With their services, the steel recycling and disposal companies organized in the BDSV make an important contribution to the further development of the ecological market economy in Germany. On the way to a circular economy, the steel recycling industry is one of the most important players in the value chain and is therefore a prime example of resource efficiency.
On the one hand, the companies ensure that obsolete products and materials are properly disposed of. On the other hand, they provide secondary raw materials for the manufacturing economy, without which profitable, socially and environmentally compatible industrial production would be unthinkable in Germany and beyond.
Recycling is therefore primarily a task for the economy and not a public service task for the municipalities. The BDSV member companies face up to the competition and work reliably, efficiently and innovatively for the benefit of their customers from industry, commerce and private households.
Together with and for our more than 500 operationally active members, we are committed to ensuring that the private-law, competitive steel recycling and waste management industry can continue to build on a sufficiently business-friendly environment.
